CM Punk has revealed he would have to be paid a lot of money to return to WWE.
The former WWE champion fell out with Vince McMahon and Triple H before leaving the company in 2014.
Since then, Punk has criticised WWE on numerous occasions, claiming he left with ‘zero passion’ for wrestling.
Despite his rocky relationship with his former employers, reports have claimed The Voice of the Voiceless is keen on a return.
And in a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Thursday, a fan asked Punk: “This is an AMA so I’m going to be that guy, I apologise in advance; is a WWE return ever possible?”
Punk replied: “Oh, of course I’m going to get asked that, no need to apologise! It’d have to be a very big bag.”
‘A very big bag’ is a clear reference to money, which doesn’t seem to be an issue for WWE with boxing star Tyson Fury set to rake in £11.9million for his fight against Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel later this month.
Punk, 40, tried his hand at mixed martial arts, but lost two of his only fights against Mickey Gall and Mike Jackson.
Earlier this month, Triple H refused to rule out a sensational WWE return for Punk.
WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative said: “You never say never in WWE.
“Any time anybody goes ‘that’ll never happen’, sooner or later it ends up being wrong maybe. The desire has to be there on both sides.
“I don’t know if it is on his (Punk’s), and I don’t know where we would be if that desire was brought up to us.”
If, and it remains a big if at the moment, Punk returned to WWE, it would likely be regarded as one of the biggest comebacks in wrestling history.
